Treedy’s raises €450K to transform sizing in fashion with 3D body data

From a basement prototype to a data solution adopted by international players: Treedy’s journey shows how deep tech and real-world insight can tackle one of fashion’s most persistent problems. The company recently closed a €450,000 funding round on its road to raise a €2 M seed round, with wise money contributed by business angels via BAN Flanders, to scale its sizing intelligence technology and expand market reach.

Treedy’s has developed SIZED, a fully clothed, privacy-safe, self-service 3D body scanner that captures accurate measurements in seconds. Each scan feeds into a centralized body-data hub, generating real-time analytics at scale. For retailers and workwear providers, this data helps reduce operating costs, optimize inventory, and minimize returns. Consumers benefit from fewer try-ons, better fit recommendations, and a more personalized shopping experience.

With a flexible plug-and-play model that charges per scan and offers optional analytics services, Treedy’s is already supporting workwear suppliers, large organizations like airlines and defence institutions, and multi-store fashion retailers in rethinking sizing and fit. At its core, the company combines advanced technology with an ethical approach to personal data, enabling businesses to deliver better-fitting clothes, happier customers, and more efficient operations.

From garage thinking to global validation

For Treedy’s it all started ten years ago in founder David Francotte’s grandmother’s basement, where two engineers were fascinated by 3D scanning. Their first prototype already outperformed existing tools in both speed and accuracy. For nearly three years, Treedy’s wasn’t a company, it was a side project that had to exist after their day jobs. The founders spent weekends scanning people at fairs, events, and pop-ups.

Everything changed in late 2017 when Zalando approached them to help tackle high return rates. Soon after, Amazon and Nike followed, collectively performing more than 350,000 scans using Treedy’s devices. Working with these global brands revealed a deeper structural issue: the fashion industry lacked reliable, large-scale data on body shapes, and scalable, privacy-safe tools to collect it simply did not exist. What started as a weekend passion project soon became a mission to reshape how the industry understands body morphology.

“Our ambition with Treedy’s is to make sizing effortless. For decades, the fashion and workwear industries have been designing in the dark. We bring clarity by transforming body data into actionable insight, helping companies move from guesswork to precision”

What the investment enables

The recent capital injection of €450,000, including wise money from BAN Flanders business angels, will accelerate Treedy’s next phase of growth. Once this fundraising milestone is achieved, it will support the company to expand deployment of SIZED scanners into new markets and industries, from workwear to large fashion retail. It also enables rapid scaling of the centralized body-data hub, delivering richer analytics and more actionable insight to clients while refining hardware and software for faster, more accurate scans.

In addition to technology development, the funding will be used for customer acquisition, strategic partnerships, and product innovation that generate measurable value for customers and investors alike. With current contracts secured from prestigious large-scale government and defence-related institutions, Treedy’s is rapidly establishing itself as an industry leader. They are turning body data into actionable insights, reducing returns, improving sizing efficiency, and delivering a smarter, seamless, and personalized shopping experience at scale.

“What convinced me is that Treedy’s isn’t building ‘nice-to-have’ technology, but fundamental infrastructure for the sector. By putting body data at the center, they are simultaneously solving a cost problem, an operational problem, and a sustainability problem.”
